Blind Spots and Backing Up
Every year in the United States, more than 2,400 children are accidentally backed over by vehicles. While most drivers know that there are areas or blind spots around their vehicle, many drivers do not realize how large these areas can be.
Before you back up your vehicle:
1) Verify it is clear behind you
2) Turn around and look in both directions
3) If you are unable to verify a clear area, get out and check behind
the vehicle or use a spotter to check while you are backing.
